The the Westpac Premier Care Residential insurance policy, underinsurance protection is just one of the benefits you’ll receive as well as a lifetime guarantee on authorised or arranged repairs. Along with being able to pay monthly at no cost, you’ll also be able to receive a no claims bonus, a 15% online discount, a combined policy discount and if applicable, an over 50s discount.

Whether your home has been through a fire or become a victim to vandalism, Westpac Premier Care Residential has got you covered for heaps of events. While events like storms and accidental damage are also covered, you also have other extras attached to your policy for a higher level of cover. For example, if you need to temporarily move out of home, Westpac Premier Care Residential will cover the cost of accommodation. You’ll also be covered for lock replacements, debris removal and demolition costs, plus any temporary repairs your home may need.

If you’ve got any upcoming renovation plans, building materials and structural improvements are also covered along with landscaping and any gates and fences that are attached to your home. Although your home will be receiving a high standard of protection, you do need to know that power surges are not covered under this policy.

And don’t forget you can snag a range of discounts, including for buying a policy online, a no claims bonus, combined policy and seniors discount.

    Great customer service, that is all

    We were always happy with our insurance. Until we needed them. After cyclone Yasi, our insurance company just wouldn't come to the party! Our shed wasn't covered, our window wasn't ever fixed properly and the cladding company left screws all over our yard. Then they doubled the cost of our insurance as we made a claim. They are lovely to talk to on the phone but at the end of the day, I would rather have bad customer service and my house fixed properly.

    Have risen to the occasion

    I did like my insurer until I made a claim on a land lord claim, they resolved it quickly by telling me I was not able to make a claim, classing it as a malicious act which I was unaware of that I should have specified Malicious cover when I took out land lord insurance. I didn't class a dog scratching my glass doors as a malicious act. Insurers need to clarify these hidden clauses instead of masking them over!
