goCatch app lets you rack up Qantas Points with your taxi fare

These days you can earn frequent flyer points on just about everything from flights and hotels through to your weekly grocery shop. Now with Qantas teaming up with taxi booking app goCatch, you can even earn Frequent Flyer Points on your taxi fare when you book and pay via the app.

GoCatch was launched in 2011 and today over 350,000 Australians have downloaded the app. goCatch CEO Ned Moorfield described their new partnership with Qantas as “an even more compelling reason to book and pay through our app for taxi travel.”

How it works is if you’re a Qantas Frequent Flyer member and book and pay for your taxi travel through the goCatch app you’ll earn one Qantas Point per dollar spent on taxi fares over $10.

According to Qantas Loyalty Chief Executive Officer Lesley Grant, there are over 15,000 opportunities for members to earn points through day to day activities. “Adding goCatch means our members have yet another chance to effortlessly boost their points balance and reach rewards sooner.”

Grant described the new incentive as a way for members to “double-dip” on points, if they book and pay for taxi fares over $10 on a Qantas Points-earning credit card.
