Electricity plans, why compare?

The electricity market in Victoria is competitive so if you haven't switched electricity providers in a while, you might be surprised at how much you could save if you made the switch. These days, there isn't a one size fits all kind of energy plan. Some have discounts based off online payments, others for direct debit - some plans you can even pay more for if you want to put money towards green energy. It's about finding an electricity deal that best meets your needs. So if you haven't switched in a while, give Mozo's comparison tool a go and compare plans that are available in your postcode from the brands we compare. It's a free service and you're under no obligation to switch but if you do find a cheaper deal, you can apply straight away so, what are you waiting for?

*To calculate the potential savings figure Mozo identified the lowest plan provided by Mozo and highest cost plan in each energy distributor state region based on the average residential usage in that state. The costs data used across the state is current at 17 August 2020. Not all plans will be available via the Mozo energy comparison service. Your individual usage and location, along with which plan you are on and which plans are available on the Mozo site at any given time, will vary the savings you may be able to achieve using the Mozo energy comparison service.

Electricity Provider Reviews

Dodo Power & Gas Electricity
Overall 5/10
Dodo? More like doo-doo

If I had enough time or energy, I would do more market analysis because I’m not very confident in Dodo. In particular, I don’t think they are reading the correct meter, but as I live in an apartment, even my building manager wasn’t able to confirm whether or not the meter is actually mine! Their website is very lacking and won’t show proper utility usage based on period because that function is broken.

Lumo Energy Electricity
Overall 6/10
No summary as I am looking at another provider

Have been with Lumo for a short while, swapped to them as they were local, but thinking of moving as since being with them it is like I have no panels on my roof as bills just keep going up.
