Does Australian Unity travel insurance have COVID-19 coverage? 

Australian Unity does cover some COVID-19-related claims. Read up on the PDS for the full terms and conditions, however, as exclusions and sub-limits may apply.

What other optional extras can I add to my Australian Unity policy?

There are a few optional extras you can add to your Australian Unity travel insurance policy if you need to tailor your package to the kind of holiday or trip you’re going on. These include the Snow Pack, Cruise Pack, Adventure Pack, Increased Item Limits cover, and the option to vary your base excess.

These add-ons will increase the premium you pay. But without them, you may not be covered for anything that happens related to these sorts of activities. Always be sure to check out the PDS to find details regarding limits on cover amounts and general exclusions. 

Are pre-existing medical conditions covered under Australian Unity’s travel insurance policies? 

Australian Unity provides cover for travelling with pre-existing conditions, however, they must be declared to and approved by Australian Unity, and feature on your certificate of insurance in order to make a claim. 

What do I do if there’s an emergency during my trip? 

If there’s an emergency during your overseas trip, call Australian Unity on their emergency assistance line.

Australian Unity 24-hour emergency assistance: 

The emergency assistance line is available 24/7 if you need it. Australian Unity’s team will be able to help you out with things like finding medical facilities and emergency hospital expenses, among other things. When you call, make sure you have your policy number and a phone number that they can call you back on if need be.

How do I make a claim with Australian Unity travel insurance? 

You can submit claims online 24/7 at http://www.claimmanager.com.au/. Alternatively, if you need a claim form, email the insurance underwriter, Allianz Global Assistance, at travelclaims@allianz-assistance.com.au, or call Australian Unity on 1300 130 935. 

To register a claim with Australian Unity, you will need to have all the relevant documentation to support your claim, like receipts for valuables, if lost or stolen, or invoices from hospitals and doctors, if you incurred medical costs.

Australian Unity will aim to contact you regarding the outcome of your claim within 10 working days. 

Is it possible to cancel my Australian Unity travel insurance policy?

You can cancel your policy and receive a full refund within 14 days of purchasing it, provided you haven’t started your journey or intend to make a claim. If after 14 days you still feel like cancelling your policy, you can get a partial refund of the premium you’ve paid, subject to Australian Unity’s discretion.
