To get the most competitive interest rate with the Back to Basics Loan of 3.22% p.a. (3.23% p.a. comparison*), you’ll need to be an owner-occupier with a LVR of 70% or less, borrow more than $150,000, and open a Suncorp Everyday Option Account. And the good news is, if you have an LVR between 70% and 80%, there's a still competitive 3.33% p.a. (3.34% p.a. comparison rate*) up for grabs. Called the ‘Better Together’ bundle, in addition to a special discounted rate on your home loan, you’ll also get a discount of up to 20% off your first premium on a new Suncorp Home, Landlord and/or Contents insurance policy.
There is also an Investor option available with this home loan, where interest rates sit at 3.45% p.a. (3.46% p.a. comparison rate*) for those with an LVR of 70% or less and 3.49% (3.50% comparison*) for those with an LVR between 70% and 80%.
You can say goodbye to pesky ongoing fees as the Back to Basics Loan doesn’t have any. There are no loan application fees, annual or monthly account fees. There is a loan discharge fee of $350, which you’ll pay at the end of the loan but this is a standard fee across most home loans so it shouldn’t be something to be overly concerned with.
This flexible home loan gives borrowers the option to make weekly, fortnightly or monthly repayments as well as offering free extra repayments. There is a redraw facility, but there are some conditions - only the first redraw of every month is free and there is a minimum redraw amount of $1,000.
Last but not least, eligible new Suncorp customers might also be able to grab $3,000 cashback. To be eligible, borrowers must be applying for a loan of $750,000 or more and have an LVR equal to or below 90%. Applications must be made by June 30, 2022 and settled by September, 30 2022. The offer cannot be used in conjunction with other cashback deals and be sure to read the fine print, as other terms and conditions may apply.
This is a great home loan option for borrowers who are keen to do the bulk of their banking with Suncorp and are looking for a low cost, competitive loan without the bells and whistles.
While you can make extra repayments with this loan just be aware that it doesn’t come with an offset account. Also, if you have a loan to value ratio (LVR) of over 80%, you’ll need to purchase Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

Suncorp was great until we purchased an investment property. When we went to add our new loan to our existing online app account, it sent the system into a spin that required customer service. They did an account merge or something which allowed us to see our new home loan account and some savings accounts but not our existing home loan (which had all our savings offsetting the loan). We have been calling suncorp every week for the last 2+ months trying to resolve, just going around in circles with clueless phone operators. Very unhappy, when it works it’s great, but if you have a problem, good luck.

Customer service representative are always rude. Every single one hang up the phone give you a smart@$$ answer and very unprofessional, if you applied a loan or try to negotiate with interest rate they will say some reason and will not give you an interest rate which other bank gives you without negotiation. Service is horrendous and they can't even track record. Luckily I came out of the bank.
