*The Comparison Rate combines the lender's interest rate, fees and charges into a single rate to show the true cost of a personal loan. The comparison rates displayed are calculated based on a loan of $30,000 for a term of 5 years or a loan of $10,000 for a term of 3 years as indicated, based on monthly principal and interest repayments, on a secured basis for secured loans and an unsecured basis for unsecured loans. WARNING: This comparison rate applies only to the example or examples given. Different amounts and terms will result in different comparison rates. Costs such as redraw fees or early repayment fees, and cost savings such as fee waivers, are not included in the comparison rate but may influence the cost of the loan.

All you need to know about Hunter United Personal Loans

Interest rate: Hunter United offer variable rate personal loans. This means that during the life of your loan term, your interest rate may move up or down in line with the market. For some people this is a good option, as generally variable rate loans are cheaper than their fixed rate counterparts. The other benefit of a variable rate loan is that they are generally more flexible so you can make extra repayments or even pay the loan out early without having to pay expensive break cost fees.

Loan type: There are a range of loan options with Hunter so if you are borrowing money for a new car under 5 years old and are prepared to secure this against the loan you can opt for Hunter’s lowest rate loan option. Hunter also has a green loan and a standard personal loan which can either be secured or unsecured. Just bare in mind that any unsecured loan is likely to have a higher interest rate, than a secured one.

Minimum and maximum loan amounts: Hunter’s unsecured and green loan have a maximum borrowing limit of $30,000 while you can borrow up to $100,000 for a new car or $70,000 for other purposes. There is a minimum of $10,000 for the low rate car loan and $2000 for the Green Loan.

The actual amount you’ll be able to borrow though of course will depend on your personal financial situation. To see how much you’d be able to borrow and what kind of repayments you’ll need to make, head over to our loan repayments calculator.

Loan terms: For all Hunter United loans the maximum loan term is 7 years. It is important when deciding on a loan term that you think about your repayment ability now and in the future. The longer your loan term the more interest you’ll pay, but as you’ll have the flexibility with all Hunter United loans to make extra repayments or lump sum repayments whenever you like, you can reduce the time it takes to pay back the loan.

Fees: You’ll have to pay an upfront application fee of $250 and there is also a $8 monthly fee payable for the duration of the loan. Also, to avoid paying the $10 late fee, be sure to set up automatic repayments from your account each month or week.

Flexible repayment options: You’ll get a choice of making your loan repayments weekly, fortnightly or monthly. While you’ll have the ability to make extra repayments or lump sum payments at any time, just be aware that Hunter United Loans do not have a redraw option.

Application process: You can complete your loan application anywhere at any time for a Hunter United Loan as it has a fast and secure online application process. You’ll need to make sure that you’ve got all the usual documentation like proof of income, details of assets and liabilities and ID.
