If you’re on the hunt for an affordable new car insurance policy, make sure you check out ING Comprehensive Car Insurance. With variable excess to help you manage your budget, generous discounts and cover on a wide range of events, ING Comprehensive Car Insurance could be the one for you.
It was even named a Mozo Experts Choice Car Insurance Award winner in 2023, taking out a trophy in the Exceptional Value Young Driver Insurance category.
ING Comprehensive Car Insurance offers a wide range of quality cover with the option to tailor your premium to suit your budget. You can choose a higher excess to reduce your premium (remember this will mean you have to pay more at claim time), access a no claims discount up to 15%, and slash another 15% off your premium in the first year if you apply online.
If your car’s a write-off, don’t stress. ING Comprehensive Car Insurance will hook you up with a new car as long as yours was within two years or 40,000 km of the original registration. And if your car’s stolen, they’ll give you a rental vehicle for up to 14 days (up to $1,000) with legal liability cover while you’re using the hire car.
On top of this, they’ll cover the cost of replacement car keys if stolen (of up to $1,000) and a new baby capsule/seat (up to $500), as well as up to $1,000 of trailer or caravan cover too.
ING Comprehensive Car Insurance gives you the reassurance of a 24/7 claims service, and a bunch of different emergency features on offer, like, travel and accommodation cost cover ($200/day up to $1,000) and reasonable towing costs.
Just remember, not everything is covered and some features may only come as optional extras for an additional fee. For example, windscreen cover is included as standard, but the optional to reduce the excess in this kind of claim to $40 is an optional extra that comes with an additional premium. Other optional extras include the choice of repairer and a hire car cover after an at-fault accident. Roadside assistance is also available for an extra $89.95 per year.
If you’re an Aussie driver after a value-packed car insurance policy that comes with all the bells and whistles and options that allow you to tailor cover to your needs, then consider ING Comprehensive Car Insurance.
Keep in mind ING Comprehensive Car Insurance only offers a rental car in the case of a not-at-fault incidents, and if you’re under the age of 25, watch out for the young driver excess.

My car has now been sitting in a garage for 6 months not being driven which is causing damage to my vehicle. They can't get the parts so they leave customers in hardship. I have had no car for 6 months. It is stated that if the vehicle is irreparable then it is a write off. In my case, my car is not repairable, but they refuse to pay me out. This has caused me so much hardship financially and mentally. I have paid registration and car insurance to have my car on the road. I have had no transport. I have been going through a complaints process where they refused to find an alternative. Don't go with this insurance company, it is not worth the trouble and hardship.

When I changed from my previous car insurer a few years ago I shopped around before signing up with ING. I have since purchased a new car and after checking the market again I chose to stay with ING. The whole process was made really easy. I found customer service helpful and clear. If you are in the market for a new insurer they are worth getting a quote.

So unhelpful and unprofessional. No follow up calls to customers. Just an overall bad experience.

It took them 2 weeks to process my claim and once I took the car to their mechanic they didn’t even check and follow them up to see when I can get the car back. I pay extra for a car hire every month and they only gave me the car for 14 days only. My car has been with their mechanic for a month and 4 days. A very bad experience horrible service. Even Bingle (operate by computer) can do so much better than ING/AUTO GENERAL. They are expensive, slow and they do not care about the customer except their money. My excess fee was $900 and during my claim they add an extra $500 on top. I do not recommend them to anyone or anything.
