Looking for something to do with the whole family this New Year’s Eve? Check out these options:

Sydney family-friendly NYE:

  • Fireworks vantage points: From Birchgrove Park to Botanic Garden - The Point, there’s a whole list of places to catch Sydney’s epic NYE fireworks display this year. Some vantage points are free, while others are ticketed. There’ll be fireworks at the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge at 9 pm and midnight.

Melbourne family-friendly NYE:

  • Free entertainment: There'll be free family-friendly entertainment, food trucks, performances and fireworks (at 9:30 pm and midnight) at the celebration zones in Docklands, Flagstaff Gardens, and Treasury Gardens.
  • Fireworks: There’ll be a 9 pm & midnight fireworks display. Alternatively, you could tune in from 11 pm via the Channel 9 live broadcast. Here’s where you’ll be able to spot them:
  • Docklands: at 9:30–9:35 pm and 12–12:08 am 
  • Flagstaff Gardens: at 9:30–9:35 pm and 12–12:08 am
  • Kings Domain: at 9:30–9:35 pm and 12–12:08 am
  • Treasury Gardens: at 9:30–9:35 pm and 12–12:08 am 

Brisbane family-friendly NYE:

  • Fireworks & family fun: Here’s where you can catch fireworks on New Year’s Eve in Brisbane
  • Ipswich: 9 pm fireworks at Springfield Central, South Ripley, Ipswich Central, and Chuwar
  • South Bank: The Lord Mayor’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks are at 8:30 pm and midnight. Head to South Bank Parklands for free firework displays set to music and food vendors.
  • Tivoli – free community event from 3–9 pm (at Tivoli Drive In – 50 Coal Road, Chuwar): featuring entertainment starring Keri and the Shake Shifters, The Fabulous Lemon Drops, Kerryn Thorne, Tammy Mathieson, Unbranded, Sierra Faith, face painting. There’ll also be balloon twisting, Conservation Park Lights display and bushland walk, kids crafts and activities, fireworks and more. It’s a free event; however, you’ll need a ticket.
  • Victoria Point Lakeside, family event from 5 – 9:30 pm: Fireworks at 9pm, kids activities, market stalls, free entertainment, retailer specials & more! 

Canberra family-friendly NYE:

  • Fireworks: The two main spots to catch the fireworks this NYE are at Central and East Basins – with sessions at 9 pm and midnight
  • Last coin of the year at the Mint: On NYE at 3:45 pm, you can enter a draw to be one of the ten last customers to win one of the last coins produced in 2022 (plus an authentication certificate).

Fireworks: There’ll be fireworks displays at various times and locations across the Goldie

  • Paradise Point Parkland at 9pm
