Our verdict

If you’re in the market for an energy-efficient car, such as a Tesla or Toyota Prius, then Bendigo Bank’s Green Personal Loan (Secured) can help you finance it.

The Green Personal Loan from Bendigo won a 2024 Mozo Experts Choice Award for being one of the best green car loans in Australia.

With the lowest 3-year fixed rate in the Mozo database (for a $30k loan, on 25 October 2024), from 5.49% p.a. (5.84% p.a. comparison rate*), it’s a steal for sustainably-minded drivers.

This loan can be used to buy electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, and ‘A’ rated vehicles that emit less than 110g of CO2 per kilometre, and the minimum loan amount is quite low at $2,000, making it a good option for those buying a used car.

Flexibility is a feature of Bendigo Bank’s Green Car Loan. You can pay it off over 1 to 7 years and choose between weekly, fortnightly or monthly repayments.

There’s no fixed rate break cost if you need to refinance your car, but there is a fee of $20 if you pay off your loan before the term ends.

You’ll also need to cover a $5 monthly service fee and $250 in application fees.

The comparison rates displayed are calculated based on a loan of $30,000 for a term of 5 years or a loan of $10,000 for a term of 3 years as indicated, based on monthly principal and interest repayments, on a secured basis for secured loans and an unsecured basis for unsecured loans.
