Aussies love the little guy for banking - People's Choice Award winners revealed
The results of the Mozo People’s Choice Awards have been revealed, and show yet again that Aussies prefer to bank with small challenger brands, like credit unions and mutuals.
The Awards are given based on Mozo customer reviews, and reflect what everyday Aussies think of their banks in the areas of price, features, customer service, convenience and trust.
Following a trend that has appeared for a number of years now, the winners were almost uniformly small providers, and many were locally based, customer owned banking options or online banks.
“Yet again we’re seeing smaller alternatives to the big banks come out on top, not just in terms of value, but in the experience they offer their customers,” said Mozo Director Kirsty Lamont.

Small providers were also the overall winners of the Mozo Experts Choice Awards earlier this year, across categories including home loans, savings accounts and international money transfers.
As far as the big banks were concerned, NAB took out the People’s Choice Major Bank Award, and Westpac bagged an award for its home insurance.
“It’s clear that Aussies who go further afield when shopping for their banking products not only save money, but are generally happier with their banking experience,” Lamont said.
