Yes, the green apple grocery chain also offers insurance. When it comes to protecting your wheels, Woolworths has options for third party car insurance, third party fire & theft, and comprehensive car insurance.
Those looking for the most extensive coverage will opt for comprehensive cover. The good news is Woolworths’ top-tier policy is super flexible and comes with features that make it a great value option. Read on for all the details and commonly asked questions about car insurance from Woolies.
You’ll find a long list of standard inclusions once you dig into the details of Woolworths car insurance. Here’s a rundown of some of the major things covered:
Keep in mind conditions and limits apply to most of these, so make sure you read your Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) carefully to know exactly what you’re covered for.
Like most comprehensive car insurance policies, there are additional features or higher grades of coverage you can add to your policy to tailor it to your needs. Keep in mind, if you do opt for these extras, you’ll likely pay a higher premium. Additional extras include:
There are a number of ways to make your Woolworths car insurance policy more wallet-friendly. Some money-savvy strategies include:
When working out your premium, insurance companies are essentially trying to work out how likely you are to make a claim. The more likely it is, the more you’ll be charged. Some factors that may influence your premium include:
What car you drive. This can include the quality, age, any modifications and even the colour of your car.
Where you park. Parking in a garage is safer than parking on the street where it might be accidentally or maliciously damaged, so your premiums will be lower.
Where you live. Your premium might be higher if you live in an area prone to vandalism or accidents.
Your age and driving experience. Young drivers or those with only a few years experience on the road will often pay higher insurance premiums. This is because they are more likely to be involved in a road accident. The same goes for any other drivers listed on your policy.
Your gender. Men are statistically more likely to be involved in a collision, and also cause more costly damage to their own and other vehicles. Therefore, their premiums are often bumped up.
You can make a claim on your Woolworths car insurance anytime of the day by calling the claims team, or completing the claim online. Details that’ll help speed-up this process include:
Once your claim is lodged, Woolworths will assess if it’s insurable, and then contact you about further actions like repair quotes, replacements and settlements with anyone impacted by the incident.
One of the good things about Woolworths car insurance is that there’s plenty of flexibility in how you pay your premium. You can use either credit or debit card, but most importantly, you can choose one annual payment or monthly installments. If you go for the month-by-month option, you may have to pay an additional processing fee.
If you choose a higher excess, you’ll generally pay a lower premium. Sounds great right? But the downside is, in an emergency, your insurance policy will cover less of your repair costs.
So while you have the option to choose either a high or low excess with your Woolies car insurance, the right decision depends on you and your budget.
Yes, but as mentioned, this comes as an optional extra alongside any Woolworths car insurance policy. If you choose to include this in your policy, you’ll have access to assistance for problems like empty fuel tanks, breakdowns, flat batteries and tyre repairs 24/7, 356 days a year.
If you’re an internet aficionado and after that apply-online discount, the whole process can be completed digitally. Simply start by getting an online quote (with your car and driver details handy) and follow the instructions from there.
Otherwise, there’s a general enquiries line you can call 7 days a week (check for variable times and public holiday hours).
You can get in touch with a Woolworths Insurance agent through an online chat or their general enquiries phone number. Make sure you check their contact hours. When it comes to making a car insurance claim, there’s a team working around the clock to assist you.

Worst service ever. Waited an hour on the phone to speak to someone and still no response; could not get through on online chat at all; sent an email and no response for 48hours, when responded did not answer my question in any logical way. Would give me Car Insurance for a property where the car is stored in a B3 Basement, but would not cover me for Contents insurance on Level 17 as I am in a flood zone... seriously? I cancelled and still my payment was taken, still waiting for a refund. Worst Service Ever.

Always friendly to talk to and nothing is a problem when I talk to them. Their premium is excellent compared to other companies.
